【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasoriginallydevelopedforresearchanddevelopmentpurposes;however,itisreferenced,inspecificmaterialspecifications,asapplicableforevaluatingproductionmaterial(refertoSection14onPrecisionandBias).Useofthistestmethodprovidesausefulpredictionoftheexfoliationcorrosionbehaviorofthesealloysinvarioustypesofoutdoorservice,especiallyinmarineandindustrialenvironments.4Thetestsolutionisverycorrosiveandrepresentsthemoreseveretypesofenvironmentalservice,excluding,ofcourse,unusualchemicalsnotlikelytobeencounteredinnaturalenvironments.Theexfoliationratingswerearbitrarilychosentoillustrateawiderangeinresistancetoexfoliationinthistest.However,itremainstobedeterminedwhethercorrelationscanbeestablishedbetweenEXCOtestratingsandrealisticserviceconditionsforagivenalloy.ItisanongoingactivityoftheTaskGrouponExfoliationCorrosionofAluminumAlloys(G01.05.02.08)tomaintainoutdoorexposuretestsforthispurpose.Forexample,ithasbeenreported5thatsamplesofAl-Zn-Mg-CualloysratedEAorPina48-hEXCOtestdidnotdevelopmorethanaslightamountofincipientexfoliation(EA)duringsix-tonine-yearexposurestoseacoastatmospheres,whereas,EDratedmaterialsinmostcasesdevelopedsevereexfoliationwithinayearintheseacoastatmosphere.Itisanticipatedthatadditionalcomparisonswillbecomeavailableastheoutdoortestsareextended.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforconstantimmersionexfoliationcorrosion(EXCO)testingofhigh-strength2XXXand7XXXseriesaluminumalloys.Note18212;Thistestmethodwasoriginallydevelopedforresearchanddevelopmentpurposes;however,itisreferenced,inspecificmaterialspecifications,asapplicableforevaluatingproductionmaterial(refertoSection14onPrecisionandBias).1.2Thistestmethodappliestoallwroughtproductssuchassheet,plate,extrusions,andforgingsproducedfromconventionalingotmetallurgyprocess.1.3Thistestmethodcanbeusedwithanyformofspecimenorpartthatcanbeimmersedinthetestsolution.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
